In my first series of Supreme Court cases, the State of Texas claimed that the law compensating Texas’ Exonerees–which we had worked tirelessly to get passed and put Texas at the forefront of the nation in compensating for this injustice–allowed for the State to shortchange some of the Exonerees on a technicality.

We took this issue to the highest court in the state and I succeeded in persuading all 9 Supreme Court Justices that my clients were once again the victims of a problematic legal system.  Here is a portion of that argument.
